Dr. Jon Ver Halen is a Dallas-based board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including advance microsurgical techniques for free flap breast reconstruction. He prides himself on providing the best possible outcomes for his patients, drawing on his extensive training at the world’s most highly regarded institutions, including Harvard Medical School and the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he completed a surgical fellowship in microvascular breast reconstruction.

Internationally known for his skill, knowledge and forward-thinking approach to plastic surgery, Dr. Ver Halen is actively involved in plastic surgery research, serving as an editor for multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and holding teaching positions at medical hospitals in the Dallas area. He is currently the program director for microvascular surgery at the University of Tennessee, Baptist Cancer Center, Vanderbilt/Ingram Cancer Center and Baylor Scott & White Healthcare, and has held teaching and leadership positions at prestigious institutions throughout the southeast.

At Breast Reconstruction Specialists, Dr. Ver Halen applies his surgical skill and artistry to provide remarkably natural looking results with autologous tissue breast reconstruction, including DIEP Flappatient-specific free flap procedures, and fat grafting. He is also experienced in multiple lymphedema treatment procedures, including lymph node transfer and lymphatic bypass. He currently serves patients at all of our locations, in Nashville, Memphis, Houston, and Dallas, as well as Tampa.
